1st South American Capoeira Championship Successfully Concludes

The 1st South American Capoeira Championship has concluded with great success, marking a historic milestone for capoeira development on the continent. The event brought together hundreds of athletes from ten different countries, creating a vibrant atmosphere of high-level competition, cultural exchange, and sportsmanship.

As an officially WCF-licensed competition, the championship allowed participating athletes to earn World Ranking Points, making it the second most prestigious event within the World Capoeira Federation’s official competition calendar. The tournament demonstrated the growing importance of South America within the global capoeira movement and the rising competitive standards across the region.

The World Capoeira Federation was officially represented at the championship by Mr. Rodrigo Gomes (Mestre Ticotico), who delivered a welcoming speech during the opening ceremony. On behalf of the WCF, he congratulated the organizers, encouraged the athletes, and wished all participants success in their performances.

The WCF extends its congratulations to all athletes, coaches, referees, and organizers who contributed to the successful execution of this landmark event.
